THE RULE OF THIRDS

Q: Why does Marie develop her healthy, easy recipes for THREE servings?

A: Because there are 2 servings for the guy and 1 serving for the girl.
 
Well, I'm exaggerating a bit, but not far from reality.  Women, typically, need fewer calories than men to meet their needs.  Since women are usually shorter than men and have less muscles to feed, they need to eat less.  

A recent study showed that women ate less when in the company of men than in the company of women.  Perhaps it is to show that they are economical, or that they care for their weight, or perhaps that they instinctively adjust their food quantity to that of the man's plate.  

That's why I develop recipes for 3 servings: 2 for the man, 1 for the woman.
That's why I use 2 different plate sizes at the table: 1 regular dinner plate for the man, a smaller salad plate for the woman.  

Once served, one plate looks as full as the other: it's all relative.
